This Android app was designed for the security industry. It monitors the text message database on your phone and sounds an alarm if an expected message is not received. Designed to monitor periodic check in  messages from guards working the graveyard shift. The app runs in the background, so your phone is free for other things.

Here we have opened the program, but no timers are running and the program is idle.

We have touched the ADD NEW TIMER button. We have entered the phone number we want to monitor - 604.555.7874. We have chosen a start time of 11:15pm and an end time of 6:15am THE NEXT DAY.

The frequency is set for 60 minutes and this is the default. So the program will perform the first scan at 11:15pm + 60 minutes = 12:15am

It will perform scans at 12:15,1:15,2:15,3:15,4:15,5:15 and 6:15.

If we scroll down, we see the span period has been set for 30 minutes. That means at each scan time, the text message database will  be searched for messages from 604.555.7874  that arrived in the previous 30 minutes.

If a message did arrive, nothing happens.
The timer continues on. If no message was received, the timer stops and the alarm sounds.

This is the list view. It displays a list of timers that are either running or in stopped mode. A stopped timer cannot be restarted. You must start a new timer. If we touch one of the timers ......

The timer's details are displayed. If the timer is stopped, we have the option to delete it. If the timer is running, we have two options - delete or stop.

The settings page has three items.
1) ALARM SOUND : Select the ringtone you would like to use as an alarm.
2) SILENT MODE :  If you are using the program to monitor a graveyard shift, you may be sleeping - and have your phone in silent mode.
3)  NEW TIMER PREFERENCES :  If you are monitoring several  phones that all have the same parameters,  you may want this checked.

The alarm window. When an alarm sounds, the timer(s) details are displayed.
